Asthma and COAD can greatly complicate anaesthesia and in areas lith limited resources may even prove life threatening. I have posted a powerpoint presentation that covers the pathophysiology of airways disease, preoperative assesment and optimal intraoperative anaesthesia as well as the management of an acute exacerbation as a medical emergency.
